Packing and delivery terms
The items ordered to "Le Pietre srl" are FOB our warehouse except different arrangements between us and costumer.
Items are shipped using our courier at costumer expense unless otherwise agreed between us as above mentioned.
The goods will be packed in wooden crate, certified for export, or in cardboard boxes always with adequate packaging as needed.
The goods delivered by our courier by subscription, are door to door, front entry and do not include baggage handling, mounting and positioning.
Payment can be made by transfer to our c / c in case of advance payment, or at the time of delivery both in cash or by check c /c payable to "Le Pietre srl" to the courier at once.
For any type of goods ordered is required a deposit of 30% VAT included.
Products care and maintenance
Cleaning and maintenance of marble
Given the porous nature of marble, must be constantly maintained and clean, besides being used with care .We offer some useful and simple tips for the care and maintenance of the same:
Clean furniture and marble
As for the marble that covers furniture and furnishings here are suggestions for cleaning the surface:
- First we have to remove surface dirt with a brush
- Do not use detergents as they may ruin
- then rinse with a soft brush and distilled water
- add soap or ten drops of ammonia per liter of water, not to exceed this amount because the ammonia may corrode the marble
- possible to perform operations in the open air near running water, to rinse the item thoroughly
- rinse with distilled water
To perform a more thorough cleaning instead:
- if we find small scale, can be removed so delicate with special blades specific, being careful not to scratch the marble
- use pumice to be paid on the marble and wipe with a damp cloth to remove stains and give uniformity to the surface
- rinse with distilled water
Never use detergents which may destroy the marble stain remover in an irretrievable. For grease stains, you must:
- preparing a mixture of potato starch and turpentine oil (half and half)
- apply the mixture to the stained marble
- cover the dough with a sheet of aluminum paper
- remove everything after a few hours
- repeat if the stain persists
- cover the marble with white paper
- allow to dry for a few days the marble
- make a wax finish(*)
(*)The wax finish is: to penetrate into a wax with a small buffer in silicon-based white marble after a few hours rubbing the marble with a wool cloth
Pietrasanta and marble
In the heart of Versilia, close to Lucca and Pisa, the town of Pietrasanta has been for many years a traditional destination for art lovers thanks to its many monuments, its square, center of interesting exhibitions, countless art galleries, craft workshops with local mainly related to the processing of marble and bronze.
During the Medici Pietrasanta also knows an extraordinary development and production manufacturing of marble due to its strategic location at the foot of the Apuan Alps.
Just in Pietrasanta, Michelangelo stopped to choose the marble for the facade of S. Lorenzo in Florence. Lorenzo arrived simultaneously in the same city and Stagio Stagi, Agnolo Bronzino, and other important names in art history, who left still works visible, such as the church of St. Martin Develops, during the nineteenth century, in particular the activities of the workshops related to use of the marble deposits.
